RED WINE

Wine may have a place in our medicine cabinets as well as our kitchens with new evidence supporting it as a topical acne treatment. A recent study published in Dermatology and Therapy, found that an antioxidant in red wine, resveratrol (which stops free radicals from forming), has the ability to slow the growth of acne causing bacteria. In addition, when added to benzoyl peroxide (commonly prescribed for acne today), it further boosted the results as an antibacterial treatment and helped the results have a longer effect.
