Medjool Date Butter

Recently we discovered DATE butter and we’re loving it. All you need is a food processor, hot water and a cup (or more) of good quality pitted #medjooldates. It’s a natural sweetener but don't forget - it’s still sugar - so don’t over do it kids!

Ingredients

  • Pitted Medjool Dates

  • Hot Water

Instructions

Method 1: Just add a tiny splash of hot water to your dates and blend until buttery, stopping to mix/push down your dates as you go. Keep adding water in tiny bits as needed. (the goal is to add as little water as possible). Once you get the consistency you want, you're done! Just store in a mason jar in the fridge and use in smoothies as needed. This is also a fantastic spread to add to toast, yogurt, or ice cream 😄

Method 2: You can also soften your dates by boiling them in a bit of water on the stove and then blending them. Make sure you add only a tiny a bit of water again here and mash them in the pot with a wooden spoon. This way you can add the dates along with any water to your blender (instead of straining away a ton of water - and the flavor that goes with it).
