High End Skincare Favorites

A few of our favorites from our recent instagram post! Here’s why we love them and why you should too!

Coola Mineral Sunscreen

This super popular sunscreen has quickly become a favorite for us. They have a variety of different options to choose from and some include a subtle tint. They have a cucumber one we like that’s infused with nourishing antioxidants and ingredients. They all go on matte and feel absolutely weightless and are part of Sepora’s ‘Clean at Sephora’ line. Great for sensitive combination skin!

Made with Rose Hip Oil, rich in free radical fighting Vitamin C; and calming Evening Primrose and Flax Seed Oils, delivering abundant Omega-3 and Gamma-Linolenic Acid to improve elasticity and help skin retain moisture. Shea Butter smoothes and hydrates while the phyto-protector Plankton Extract rejuvenates skin.

This product is formulated without gluten, fragrance, or oxybenzone. It is vegan, TSA-friendly, cruelty-free, and water-resistant for up to 40 minutes.

GM Collins Moisturizer

A powerhouse moisturizer that’s great for combination sensitive skin that lacks hydration and needs balance. We like to use this after a hyaluronic acid to really make sure we’ve hydrated our skin at every level. Combines pomegranate with Bamboo, Lotus Flower and Water Lily extracts, to improve the skin's water retention.

  • Promotes auto-active hydration by promoting the movement of water from the dermis to the dermis.

  • Increase the capacity of the cells to hold water and reduce fluctuation in hydration caused by external factors.

  • Preserves the skin's cutaneous ecosystem.

  • Improves the skin's vital functions.

Skinceuticals Day Serum

Expensive? Yes. Effective? Absolutely. Known for its high quality, high concentration of active ingredients, skinceuticals rarely has disappointed clients. That’s because this stuff works…fast. This is the perfect serum for the young adult who still struggles with blemishes but also cares about preventing the signs of aging. It’s for daytime use and can be used on all skin types.

Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.

Skinceuticals Retinol - NIGHT ONLY

Life changing if you’re struggling with congested skin. We strongly suggest you start with the lowest of the 3 levels available (start with 0.3) and apply only to problem areas. Apply on cleansed skin and leave it on for 30 minutes before moving onto your next step (probably moisturizer). They have 0.3, 0.5, and 1. It speeds up cell turnover and basically stops build up of sebum which causes breakouts. Here’s how it does that and why it’s better than the average retinol.

0.3% Retinol: a derivative of vitamin A, this powerful molecule promotes cell turnover to help improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. It's also proven to help minimize blemishes and refine the appearance of pores.

  • Soothing complex: this skin-calming blend of bisabolol (derived from the chamomile plant) and boswellia serrata extract (derived from frankincense) provides soothing benefits and helps comfort the skin.

  • innovative delivery system: Unlike products that utilize traditional encapsulation technology, Retinol 0.5’s innovative delivery system captures and stabilizes the active ingredients while protecting the product’s potency.

Drunk Elephant - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum

A great product, but not your salvation if your looking for something to get to the root of stubborn blemishes. AHA / BHA blends are best for tackling fine lines and surface level imperfections on the top layer of the skin but they don’t target deeper down. We love this products for someone who is in their 40’s-50s or doesn’t struggle with acne. This should NOT be used at the same time as a retinol. However, if you only use a retinol on your problem areas (let’s say your jaw line / lower face) you could use an AHA serum on your forehead for fine lines. This high-tech gel resurfaces dull skin, lifting dead skin cells away by gently dissolving the glue that holds them to the surface. The results are greater clarity and a smoother, more even-looking complexion. Much like using a glycolic acid, using this will result in a next day glow!
