Cinco De Mayo Margaritas

Happy cinco de mayo!  Commonly knows as an excuse to make margaritas and eat delicious Mexican cuisine.  Did you know it's actually a day that marks Mexico's victory against France in the Battle of Puebla?  Today it's one of the most profitable days of the year for imported beer companies like Corona who rake in more money than they do for the Superbowl. We aren't avid beer drinkers but we love a good margarita any day.  It's one of those staple drinks you should probably just memorize.  We have shared a classic and smoky version of this festive cocktail along with 3 ways to serve it.  Cheers!

Classic Margarita

  • 1 part tequila

  • 1 part fresh lime juice

  • 1 part agave nectar (or simple syrup) (for a more tarte flavor try half)

  • Optional: dash of Cointreau.

  • 1/2 part mezcal
