Meet Traveling Glamma™
A suitcase, an appetite, and a very healthy sense of curiosity.
I’m Suzanne Moore, the woman behind Traveling Glamma™. I’m a grandmother of four amazing humans, a traveler, a home cook, and someone who can be unpacking from one trip while thinking about the next.
I spend about 70 days a year at sea, with plenty of adventures on land along the way. You might find me in a cooking class, learning what goes into a proper cocktail, exploring a new port, or getting a little too invested in a trivia game. I also enjoy bingo. Apparently, I contain multitudes.
There’s a reason I travel this much. Beyond the obvious.
As a Personal Travel Concierge with At Your Service Travel, I want to experience travel the way my clients do. I want to sleep in the beds, eat in the restaurants, take the excursions, and see what happens when a carefully planned journey meets real life.
A brochure can tell me the size of a suite. Staying in it tells me whether there’s room to unpack, whether the bathroom works comfortably, and whether that lovely balcony is somewhere I’ll actually want to spend an afternoon.
I pay attention to the welcome after a long flight, how a hotel handles a request, and whether an excursion leaves time to enjoy a place or simply rushes everyone through it. And when something goes wrong, I’m interested in how it gets put right.
Those experiences help me make thoughtful recommendations. A hotel I love might be perfect for one client, while another would be happier somewhere entirely different. Knowing the places firsthand helps me make that match.
It’s a very enjoyable form of homework. But I do take the homework seriously.
Yes, I Have Opinions
About hotels. About ships. About service. And certainly about food.
I love beautiful surroundings, but what stays with me is how a place makes me feel. Did someone anticipate what I needed? Was the experience worth the journey? Would I go back, and whom would I send there?
Those are the questions I bring along wherever I travel.
Travel, My Way
I live with primary progressive MS and travel with two canes. That means I pay attention to things that can easily get overlooked: distances, steps, transfers, and how much energy a day really requires. I’ve learned to ask good questions, plan thoughtfully, and leave room to enjoy myself. There is absolutely no shame in sitting down somewhere lovely and ordering lunch.
Then There’s the Food
My travels have a way of following me into the kitchen. A memorable meal becomes an experiment, an experiment becomes a recipe, and occasionally the recipe needs another attempt before anyone else gets to taste it.
Here, you’ll find travel stories, recipes, discoveries, and honest observations from someone who likes to experience things firsthand. I’m an informer, not an influencer. If I share something, I want you to come away with a useful idea, a little inspiration, or something good to make for dinner.
This is also a place to have some fun. To try something new. To talk about where we’ve been and where we’d love to go next.
Come along with me. There’s plenty left to explore.
And we should probably find out what’s for lunch.
