Sofitel Barcelona Skipper: A Hotel I’d Happily Return To

Barcelona is one of those cities I never seem to tire of, and when I am here before or after a cruise, where I stay matters.

The Sofitel Barcelona Skipper has become one of my favorites.

It sits just off the waterfront, close enough to everything I want to do in Barcelona, but far enough away from the busiest parts of the city to feel like a bit of an escape.

I love the spacious rooms and suites, the rooftop, the pools and, of course, the views toward the Mediterranean. And just outside is Frank Gehry's enormous golden fish, created for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

I am not comfortable recommending a hotel I haven't experienced myself. This is one I have stayed at and would happily return to.

For anyone beginning or ending a Mediterranean cruise in Barcelona, it is definitely one to know.
