A Journey Through Fashion History at Galerie Dior, Paris
It’s Suzanne here - still in Paris. Today I visited the Galerie Dior.
The French are known for the three “F”’s. Food. Fashion. Face. (Okay should be skincare but this wouldn’t have worked!). I posted about the food and today’s post will be about the Fashion.
FAUCHON L'HÔTEL PARIS purchased my ticket for me and this allowed to skip the long line! So fabulous! I spent a glorious afternoon at the Dior exhibition which is carefully constructed in a series of 13 rooms starting from the very beginning of the House of Dior in 1947and culminating into today’s vision. His first fashion show was the debut of the iconic “New Look” the ultimate expression of a woman’s femininity.
As I walk through the Gallery I was stuck by how familiar so many of these creations seemed. I saw my mother in so many of the styles exhibited here. While she didn’t wear Dior couture she embodied the vision of Dior. With her 18” waist, long legs and size 2 figure it all seemed familiar.
It was a pleasant journey back through time and I encourage everyone to visit the @lagalleriedior.
