Barcelona Cooking Class, Part 3: The best part.

We shopped at Santa Caterina Market. We cooked at bcnKITCHEN. And finally, we sat down to eat.

Gazpacho. Tortilla de patatas. Pa amb tomàquet. Seafood paella. Crema Catalana. All made by us, with a little help from our chef and a glass or two along the way.

This is why I take cooking classes when I travel.

You can have a wonderful meal in a restaurant, but there is something completely different about going to the market, choosing the ingredients, learning how to prepare them and then sitting around a table eating what you've made.

For a few hours, you aren't just visiting Barcelona.

You're experiencing how Barcelona eats.

And yes, food really does taste better when you make it yourself.
